Het American Film Institute heeft zijn jaarlijkse lijst met de 100 beste films aller tijden vrijgegeven. Deze lijst zal, net als de meeste andere lijsten, waarschijnlijk tot meer dan een paar meningsverschillen leiden. Er zijn plaatsingsproblemen ( Titanic plaatsen hoger dan Blade Runner ?), er zijn films die het verdienen om op de lijst te staan, maar niet ( Roger Ebert gewezen Fargo Afwezigheid) en zelfs films die op de lijst staan maar niet zouden moeten zijn ( Peloton En Burger Kane is alweer # 1. Ik begrijp waarom deze film een plaats op deze lijst zou moeten krijgen. Ik begrijp het belang van de film. Maar denk je niet dat het tijd is om een andere film in de schijnwerpers te zetten? Er staat geen film in de top 49 plekken die gemaakt is in de afgelopen 14 jaar. En volgens mijn telling staat er maar één film op de lijst van dit millennium (Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring). Bekijk de lijst na de sprong.
